Release: Love, Freedom & Aloneness – A New Vision
of Relating |
|
Navigating
the many minefields of relationship has never been easy, but
in the 21st century it is perhaps more difficult than ever.
Old moralities and social structures are bankrupt and
disappearing, women are no longer content to be just wives
and mothers, and both men and women have far more
opportunities to meet and mingle with attractive "others" in
the course of their everyday lives.
The
newest Osho book to be published in English tackles the
whole range of issues around relating – from sex to
parenting, from jealousy to compassion, from "falling in a
ditch" to "rising in love." Whether you're just beginning a
relationship or just ending one, or whether you're part of a
happy couple or happy to be uncoupled and alone – reading
these pages is like a heart-to-heart with a wise and
perceptive friend.
AIDS
in the news Nearly twenty years after Osho warns of this
coming global catastrophe, the world wakes up to the
magnitude of the AIDS pandemic. He had foreseen, "But
neither is the disease now called AIDS just a disease. It is
something more, something beyond the limitation of the
medical profession. As I see it, it is not a disease in the
same category as other diseases; hence the danger of it.
Perhaps it will kill at least two-thirds of humanity."
These
words have rung true at a special session on AIDS held in
New York recently. Secretary General Kofi Annan recited
statistics underscoring the toll taken by AIDS around the
world: nearly 22 million dead, 13 million children orphaned,
more than 36 million living with AIDS or H.I.V. "Every day,
another 15,000 people acquire the virus," he said. President
Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria followed on to say, "With this
trend in statistics, the future of the African continent is
bleak, to say the least, and the prospect of extinction of
the entire continent looms larger and larger"
Osho
gives his insight as to the reason behind this terrifying
disease. "To me it means humanity is
losing the will to live. Whenever a person loses the
will to live his resistance falls immediately, because the
body follows the mind. The body is a very conservative
servant of the mind; it serves the mind in a religious way.
If the mind loses the will to live it will be reflected in
the body by the dropping of resistance against sickness,
against death.
"To
me it is very significant. It has nothing to do with either
heterosexuality or with homosexuality. It has certainly
something to do with sex. And why has it something to do
with sex? – because the will to live is rooted in sex. If
the will to live disappears, then sex will be the most
vulnerable area of life to invite death."

Business
Management Faculty in The Meditation Resort The
Business Management faculty of the Osho Multiversity
recently played host to Chief Executives from the Godrej
group, one of India's largest and most prestigious
corporations. The seminar consisted of self-awareness
exercises and meditation, focusing on helping people to
understand how these processes help the day to day running
of a modern company. As today's corporations increasingly
appreciate that the workforce is their most important
resource, this valuable contribution to enhancing creativity
and motivation will now be offered to businesses in India.
The
Audiobook Club The
Audiobook Club continues to expand, with 22 new talks
from Beyond Psychology going online this week,
completing this series of 44 discourses.
Beyond
Psychology deals with a variety of fundamental questions
that each of us is faced with: What it means to really let
go? How to be a good mother? Where does childhood go wrong?
What is the meaning of compassion, of trust, of maturity?
Where did the therapeutic movement go wrong with the idea to
"love thyself?" And what is the difference between that and
"being oneself." What is the nature of mind, of love, of
truth, of our protective armor and inner spanisions, of
madness, of unworthiness, of greed, of money, of
responsibility? What is the desire to be loved, and the need
for approval? And what is a natural death and how can one
help dying people?
